La última primavera Last Days of Spring

La última primavera Last Days of Spring

About the film

La última primavera’ is a gripping social realist drama and an intimate portrait of the Spanish Gabarre-Mendoza family. Feature debut from filmmaker Isabel Lamberti who previously filmed two brothers from the Mendoza family in her graduation film ‘Volando Voy’ (2015) and co-directed the Dutch remake of the successful teen series Skam.

In ‘La Cañada Real’ a slum just outside Madrid, tension mounts when residents are told to leave their self-built houses. The land they live on has been sold. David, the father of the family and a scrap dealer, does not want to give up and looks for a solution within the bureaucratic system. But his wife, the always cheerful Augustina, does not know what to do with despair and the younger members of the family, they are struggling with the realisation that everything will soon change.

  • Special event: director Isabel Lamberti will attend the Q&A after the screening of her film in Amsterdam.
“It shows an act of resistance, but it is also a loving portrait of a misplaced community (...) recreating events experienced by non-professional actors, it transmits plenty of authentic emotion, without artifice.”
